John R. Byerly, Inc. was organized in 1977 to provide the construction industry of Southern California with professional geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing and inspection services.
Our staff includes:
• registered geotechnical engineers
• certified engineering geologists
• certified technicians and inspectors
• clerical support personnel
All services are provided from our Bloomington laboratory facility. Our inspectors are currently qualified and licensed by the International Code Council (ICC), American Welding Society (AWS), Caltrans, and the American Concrete Institute (ACI). Our inspectors are employees of John R. Byerly, Inc., who receive training and supervision from our professional staff. All services are supervised by John R. Byerly, P.E., registered Civil and Geotechnical Engineer, who is available for consultation.
Our laboratory is equipped with testing apparatus approved by ASTM, Caltrans, and other agencies governing the testing of materials. Our facilities are inspected regularly by Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory, AASHTO, Caltrans, and California Division of State Architect (DSA).
Our laboratory is accredited by AASHTO (ASTM E329, C1077, C1093, and D3740), U.S. Army Corps of Engineering, Caltrans, City of Los Angeles, and California Division of State Architect (DSA LEA No. 4).
